Feds: No more military equipment for cops

The Obama administration plans to prohibit federal agencies from providing to local cops certain kinds of military equipment such as grenade launchers, high-caliber weapons and bayonets, in the wake of controversy over a “militarized” police response to unrest last summer in Ferguson, Missouri.

FBI to examine Amtrak train's windshield

Thousands of commuters who depend on Amtrak’s northeast corridor service will once again be able to board a train to get to their destinations beginning Monday. Amtrak says trains will resume service from Philadelphia and New York first thing Monday morning — not quite one week after the deadly derailment that killed eight and injured more than 200.
